Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves #2 – New Books This Week

Here is this week’s Stacking the Shelves, this is a weekly meme which is organised by Tynga’s Reviews, as I put myself on a book ban during April to catch up with ARC’s this should be a blank post, but a few have slipped through the net…

I’ve been busy reading this week, as many readers of this blog know I have bipolar and I’m currently heading towards a manic episode so I have lots of adrenaline and while I’m currently reading quite a lot I’m struggling with concentration so my reading levels may drop for a bit soon while my mood get’s a bit more unpredictable…we’ll see!

It’s also World Book Night today so I hope those with books to give out (like me) have fun and get them all to happy homes. I was planning to go to see Amanda Prowse speaking at a World Book Night event this evening but due to my Bipolar going all manic I’ve had to cancel my tickets and am staying dosed up on medications instead.

Here are my new books this week!

These are books I have received for blog tours…

Something Old Something New - Darcie Boleyn

Soldier - Julie Kagawa

Something Old Something New by Darcie Boleyn – This has just landed on my Kindle ready for the blog tour in late May!

Soldier by Julie Kagawa – I’ve been sent a paperback copy of the third book in this series about dragons in the modern world by Julie Kagawa in preparation for the book launch blog tour. I will be reviewing on 10 May.

Here are ARC’s via NetGalley…

The City of Mirrors - Justin Cronin

The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin – I didn’t realise when I requested this it was the final part of a trilogy, so now I’m going to have to buy the first two books because I have an inability to read books out of order! But it looks SO good!

World Book Night…

Shadow and Bone - Leigh Bardugo

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo – I’ve received sixteen copies of this book to give out for World Book Night, I will write a post on what I’ve done with these next week…

Thanks for joining me this week! It’s been fun, see you next week folks and let me know what’s new on your shelves!

I'm BrizzleLass, I have Bipolar and have been dealing with mental illness in one form or another since childhood, I was first diagnosed with depression at nine. It's not easy speaking out about my experiences, some of them are extremely painful, but if I can help even one person then I have succeeded in sharing my story. This is where I talk about my mental health among other things that interest me. I enjoy walking, PlayStation, reading, heavy metal, and spending time with my Niece.

  1. Nice haul, Claire! I’m a bit envious that you got a copy of Solider, I can’t wait to read that! And I got a Leigh Bardugo title this week, too, so that I’ll have read one of her books before I’ll see her at BEA next month.
I hope you’ll be able to stay concentrated for World Book Day 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

  2. Gah, nothing worse than having to cancel all your plans like that. I hate it when real life stuff gets in the way of fun! Hopefully you’ll have some good reading time real soon. Enjoy your new books when you get to them!

  3. You had an awesome week!

I can’t wait to get my hands on Soldier! I know a lot of people don’t like these books, but I really enjoy them personally for the escapement aspect they bring–and the covers are so gorgeous, to boot!

Thank you so so much for stopping by my StS this week! Here’s hoping you enjoy your recent acquisitions. Happy book-ing!
