#BlogTour: The Collective by R.S. Williams @lilnovelist @NeverlandBT #Review #Giveaway

Welcome to Day One of The Collective blog tour, a time travel fantasy novel. Check out my review below and the giveaway which you don’t want to miss. Huge thanks to Rhianne and Jenny from Neverland Blog Tours for having me.

Matilda Gregson never knew a world outside hers existed, that is until Harvey comes along and shows her something beyond her imagination. All that is on Tilly’s mind is finishing her dissertation, getting her degree, and spending time with her friends before the end of the school year.

But everything changes when she meets Jenny, an agent of a secret society, and nothing prepared either of them for the adventure they are about to endure. Under the pressures of surviving, their friendship grows and they find friends in the most unlikely of places, and betrayal just around the corner.

Will they both be able to stop him before he tears Jenny’s society to the ground?

So three of my favourite things, Dragons, Vikings and Pirates. I know I’m a walking cliche but there you go. Not too many people write about pirates, I’m not sure why that is, but Rhianne Williams has brought us a stonking book here that is woven around time travel and wait for it…pirates! Fist pump!

Tilly is studying the lives of certain pirates for her university dissertation when she notices things not adding up in the history books. She has been clocked by Jenny who works for an organisation called The Collective and Harvey who appears to have taken a liking to her after seeing her at a pirate photo shoot.

When Harvey takes Tilly back in time to a pirate ship Jenny rushes after them intending to rescue the girl she has been making friends with and a great pirate adventure begins full of deceit and treachery as Harvey looks to not be who Tilly thought he was and a bigger plot is uncovered.

Rhianne WIlliams’ writing is wonderfully eloquent throughout the book and there are a cast of characters who range from wonderfully trustworthy to treacherous but all of them belong on the page as much as the next. Jenny and Tilly are strong young ladies who add so much to their parts, taking their modern attitudes into the past with them and creating these strong women who wouldn’t have existed in the way they have created them back then.

I loved every single second of this book. I sometimes struggle with time travel novels, but this is done well and with perfect execution, the ending leaves you with an open door to a sequel which I absolutely hope there will be. A fantastic entry into the fantasy market, just marvellous.

Sending a huge thanks to R.S. Williams and Neverland Blog Tours for the eARC so that I could read and honestly review this novel.

About R.S. Williams

R.S. Williams - Author ImageRhianne Williams, formally known as RS Williams, writes Fantasy, Adventure and Romance novels. As an avid reader Rhianne has always been in love with the written word and the emotions a good story can create.

Discovering she had a knack for creating stories as a teenager, she started work on her first story. However, at 16 the mundane adult world called her back to an admin job and Rhianne put writing on the back burner until she turned 20. Rediscovering her fascination with writing and creating Rhianne then threw herself back into her writing in 2014.

When she isn’t catching plot bunnies, typing up her creations or writing on her blog, you’ll find her in front of the television watching her favourite shows, spending time with her family and getting lost in others fictional worlds.

It's not easy speaking out about my experiences, some of them are extremely painful, but if I can help even one person then I have succeeded in sharing my story. This is where I talk about my mental health among other things that interest me. I enjoy walking, PlayStation, reading, heavy metal, and spending time with my Niece.
